The FY2026 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program Competition and Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) NOFO has been released from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
This annual competition represents a critical opportunity to secure federal funding to support our community's efforts to prevent and end homelessness, expand housing options, and promote long-term self-sufficiency.
Important Dates
Local Application Deadline: July 20, 2026
HUD Collaborative Application Deadline: August 26, 2026
Anticipated Award Announcement: December 1, 2026
All project applications must go through our local CoC Competition process in order to be included in the final submission to HUD.
Funding Overview
The FY2026 NOFO makes approximately $4 billion available nationwide to:
Renew existing CoC-funded projects
Support new housing and service projects
Expand efforts to serve youth experiencing homelessness
Increase capacity in transitional housing, rapid rehousing, and supportive services
Improve system performance and outcomes related to homelessness
Eligible Project Types
Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH)
Rapid Rehousing (RRH)
Transitional Housing (TH)
Supportive Services Only (SSO)
Youth-focused projects (YHDP)
Domestic violence-focused projects (DV Bonus)
New projects may be created through:
CoC Bonus funding
Reallocation of existing projects
Youth or DV-specific funding opportunities
