Karen works with service providers
and community leaders throughout the eleven county Southeast
Tennessee region to assess needs for homeless services, evaluate
current resources and develop ways to address HUD funding.

 Ruby Mitchell, QCVM
Before coming to
the Coalition, Ruby was a full time, small business owner and
operator partner with her husband, Bob. She continues to work in
their business on a part time basis. She was an assistant director
in a social agency working with the disabled for 8 years, before
starting her own business in 1985. She feels that operating the CVM
program at the Homeless Coalition is an extension of that work,
because Community Voice Mail allows her to help people (the
homeless, poor and disabled) connect to jobs, housing, health and
social services that will eventually change their lives for the
better.

 John Dorris, Executive Director
Before
joining the Coalition, John worked full time as a quality management
and systems consultant. For the past 15 years he has been developing
and teaching quality improvement and statistics courses for local
colleges and businesses. His professional career also includes
ownership of a manufacturing company, executive management and
software development. He is particularly interested in improving
data collection on homelessness and increasing public awareness of
homelessness.
